From May 25th 2018 a new Regulation came into force, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The aim of the Regulation is to make personal information even more confidential than it already is, under the current Data Protection act. The Regulation affects all countries in the European Union. It remains British Law following Brexit.
In the United Kingdom the Information Commissioner’s Office is the responsible body for ensuring compliance with the law.
The Doveshell Federation endeavours to ensure that we comply with the requirements of the Regulation. Aspects of the GDPR are included within our computing curriculum to enable your children to learn how to protect their privacy and online reputation in our highly technological world.
We have reviewed the security of all our IT systems and the storage of our paper records. If any companies or partner agencies have access to any school data they are required to comply with the GDPR.
Thank you for your continued support as we all work to protect everyone’s right to privacy.
